Exclusive Sneak Peek: Rick and Morty Season 7 Introduces Mind-Blowing New Characters

New episodes of Rick and Morty will premiere globally on Sunday, October 15 at 11 PM ET/PT on Adult Swim, as announced by Adult Swim on Monday. A trailer for the upcoming season, filled with outrageous sci-fi antics, has also been released. In 2022, the series attracted over 19 million viewers and continues to be a popular show on Max. It has earned two Emmys for Outstanding Animated Program and is currently nominated for a third. Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen expressed excitement and stated that the show's talented team has delivered 10 new episodes that push the boundaries of comedy and animation. This season showcases the ongoing brilliance of the creators behind Rick and Morty.

The voices of Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith will be slightly different in Season 7, as the writer-director/performer Justin Roiland will no longer be involved. Roiland, who was previously affiliated with Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of Adult Swim, has parted ways with the company following allegations of abuse. However, these charges were dropped in January due to lack of evidence. Despite the change, the new actors have done a good job in capturing the characters' essence, so the transition is not too jarring.

The identities of the new voice actors have not yet been revealed or given credit. The network has chosen to keep their names confidential until the season premiere of the show. However, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that there are indeed two new actors taking on the roles. During this year's Comic-Con, Executive Producer Steven Levy confirmed that sound-alike replacements have been selected for the original characters. Notably, Dan Stevens (known for his roles in The Legion and Downton Abbey) has replaced Roiland on Hulu's Solar Opposites.
