This Christmas Day, rather than just celebrating with festivities and Mariah Carey, some individuals will spend approximately two hours engrossed in Michael Mann's Ferrari in front of the silver screen. NEON, the film's distributor, has unveiled a fresh new movie poster showcasing Adam Driver, the star of the film. Ferrari is a cinematic adaptation of the true-life story of Enzo Ferrari (portrayed by Driver). The film is replete with gripping racing sequences, including a harrowing and graphic accident inspired by a real event. The narrative is based on Brock Yates' 1991 book, delving into themes such as bankruptcy, divorce, grief, racing, and ambition.

The plot centers around Ferrari as he grapples with a deteriorating marriage, financial turmoil, and the immense pressure of leading a racing team in the Mille Miglia. A tragic accident during the race, involving one of Ferrari's own cars, leads to severe legal repercussions and spells the permanent end of the race. Viewers are cautioned against succumbing to curiosity and seeking out the actual story.

Mann's desire to create a film about Ferrari began when he was a 24-year-old film student. He faced challenges in producing and distributing the film, as well as securing actors like Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman for the lead role, but they eventually backed out. However, the film is now set to be released in December, with a star-studded cast including Driver, Penélope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, and Patrick Dempsey. This will be Mann's first directorial project in eight years, with his last film being Blackhat. He co-wrote the script with the late Troy Kennedy Martin, known for writing The Italian Job. The production team consists of eleven individuals, including Mann himself.

Ferrari made its debut at the Venice Film Festival and has already unveiled a single teaser trailer. NEON has confirmed that the film is set to be released on December 25, 2023. Take a look at the captivating new Ferrari poster below.
