Diving Into Titans: Beast World - Tom Taylor Hints at Amanda Waller and the Suicide Squad's Impact on the DC Crossover

Amanda Waller and the Suicide Squad make their anticipated appearance in the thrilling Titans: Beast World crossover as Tom Taylor sets the stage for an epic invasion of the DC Comics universe

The upcoming Titans: Beast World crossover will have a wide-reaching impact on the DC universe, as characters from all corners are drawn into its consequences. One of these characters is Amanda Waller, the leader of the Suicide Squad.

After the events of Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths, the Justice League disbanded and entrusted Earth's defense to Nightwing and the Titans. However, according to Taylor's recent interview with Popverse, Waller is unhappy about a group of young individuals suddenly taking charge of protecting the world. In her opinion, this responsibility belongs to her, not inexperienced youngsters, especially considering they are also dealing with aliens and demons. The clash between Waller's perspective and the Titans' actions will reach its climax in Titans: Beast World.

Taylor also hinted at the arrival of a fresh installment of Suicide Squad. "Amanda Waller is taking her game to the next level, let me emphasize that with an eerie tone. I cannot disclose the specifics or events, but Waller is set loose."

Beast World Invades DC Comics

Titans: Beast World, touted as the inaugural Titans event, centers around Beast Boy, who loses control over his powers, causing many heroes and denizens of the DC Universe to transform into savage creatures. The event commenced with Tales of the Titans #4 and will progress with Titans: Beast World Evolution #1 in November—a compilation of previously published DC stories primarily featuring Beast Boy—and Titans: Beast World #1. Accompanying Taylor on this project are Ivan Reis on pencils, Danny Miki on inks, Brand Anderson on colors, and Wes Abbott on lettering.

The event will also cross over into Taylor's other DC books, Nightwing and Titans. It will include a series of one-shots. One of these one-shots is Titans: Beast World - Waller Rising #1. In this issue, Batwing, Vixen, Val-Zod, and Black Manta will face off against Dr. Hate while discovering Waller's connection to the Beast World crisis. Other tie-in one-shots include Titans: Beast World Tour: Metropolis, Titans: Beast World Tour: Gotham, Titans: Beast World Tour: Central City, Titans: Beast World Tour: Atlantis, and Titans: Beast World Tour: Star City. These will be released throughout November and December 2023 and January 2024.

Editor's P/S

As a Gen Z fan, I am excited about the upcoming Titans: Beast World crossover event and the involvement of Amanda Waller and the Suicide Squad. The clash between Waller's perspective and the Titans' actions promises to be a major highlight, and I can't wait to see how it plays out.

The arrival of a fresh installment of Suicide Squad also has me intrigued. Waller is a fascinating character, and I'm eager to see what she has in store for the team. Taylor's hints about her taking her game to the next level have me on the edge of my seat, and I can't wait to find out what she has planned. Overall, I believe that Titans: Beast World has the potential to be a major event in the DC Comics universe, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it unfolds.
